What You Need To Know About The Conversion of Your Existing Internet Banking Service

  • You will be automatically registered for HSBC's Internet Banking service at the time your first deposit account or Preferred Line of Credit account converts. Please refer to the letter you received with the "Guide To Your Accounts At HSBC" (previously mailed to you) for the conversion date of your accounts.
  • Approximately one week prior to your account conversion, you will receive a new password in the mail. It is important to note that your Customer ID will remain the same (the last 6 digits of your ATM card number). You may change both your Customer ID and password at any time through your new Internet Banking service from HSBC.
  • You should note that Internet Banking does not support an account register. Since your Republic accounts will no longer be accessible online after conversion, you may wish to keep a history of your previous transaction activity. We recommend that you access this information through your existing service prior to the dates your Republic account(s) convert to ensure a smooth transition to Internet Banking.

Prior To The Conversion Of Your Existing Internet Banking Service

  • Print out your future and recurring scheduled payments (to assist you in rescheduling them later on HSBC's Internet Banking).
  • Use The "Reports" feature within Republic's Internet Banking to create a paper copy of any history you wish to keep.

After Your Accounts Convert
Once you receive your password and your first Republic account has converted, the following steps will help you get started on HSBC's Internet Banking service:

1. Accessing Your Accounts
Access HSBC's website at us.hsbc.com. Click the "Log In" button on the home page. Enter your Customer ID and the password you received in the mail. You will have access to all of your Republic accounts that have converted to date and be able to make transfers between those accounts.

2. Setting Up Your Payees
If you are currently using the bill payment feature through Republic's Internet Banking, you will not be required to set up your payees again. Your payees will be automatically converted to HSBC's Internet Banking Bill Pay at the time that your first checking account converts.

3. Verify Your Payees
It is important that you review your payee list against your current bills to insure that payee addresses and account numbers have not changed since your last payment cycle. To verify your payees:

  • Select "PayBills" from the Internet Banking menu
  • Select View Payee List"
  • Click on each of your payees to view account and address information
  • Modify or add payees as necessary

4. Paying Bills
If you were previously registered for the Bill Pay service, you can begin to pay bills online as soon as your first checking account converts:

  • Log In to HSBC's Internet Banking and select "Pay Bills"
  • Choose a payment option (e.g. One Time, Recurring) and follow the online instructions for creating One Time, Future and Recurring Payments
Bill Pay Tips:
  • To avoid bill payment issues during conversion, you should stop paying bills or making transfers from Republic's Internet Banking seven days prior to the conversion of the checking account that you use to pay your bils. Payments scheduled through Republic's Interent Banking will conitinue to be paid until the date the checking account from which you pay your bills converts to an HSBC account.
  • The date you select to schedule your payments is the date the bank will process your payment to be forwarded to your payee. As some payees receive payments electronically and others receive them by mail, we recommend that you schedule your payments at least 5 business days prior to your due date to avoid any late fees.
