Education Savings Account
Looking for a tax-free way to save for education? A Coverdell Education Savings Account (ESA) at HSBC Securities may be your answer. If you qualify, you can make after-tax contributions of $2,000 a year for each of your children until they reach the age of 18. Your contributions and earnings are tax-free when withdrawn to pay for qualified education expenses.
You can use your funds to pay for tuition, fees, books, supplies and equipment at an eligible educational institution, including elementary, secondary or post-secondary schools. Almost anyone can contribute to a ESA, even if they're not family members. You can even change the beneficiary on the account if the designated child does not use any or all of the funds.
An HSBC Securities Financial Advisor will meet with you to tell you more about ESAs and discuss other ways to plan for your child's education. You'll have access to a world of financial experience and resources right where you bank. Simply call 1-800-662-3343 or visit your local HSBC branch to arrange an appointment.
